Bio

Len has lived in the Pottstown area for most of his life, where he currently resides with his wife Kirsten.  A graduate of Owen J. Roberts, Len went to Millersville University to pursue a teaching degree in Industrial Arts. Prior to graduating, he enlisted in the US Navy and found his passion as a first crewman and instructor with HM-12 (a fleet training squadron), flying in the Sikorsky MH-53 Sea Stallion to perform minesweeping operations. After the Navy, Len worked in a few fields until zeroing in on the insurance profession. Len has been in the insurance business for 31 years and is the owner and managing partner at EHR Insurance in Pottstown. Len met his wife, Kirsten, in Virginia Beach and they have been married for 34 years. They live in the Pottstown area in the house he grew up in as a child. Len has two grown daughters, Megan, and Lindsay. Megan is married to Brendan, and they have a 14-month-old son, Beckham.  Lindsay lives in Brookhaven, PA in her newly purchased home. Len is an avid golfer and Philadelphia sports team fan. He is also involved in many other civic and private organizations in and around the Pottstown Area.

Len’s father was a member of the Pottstown Rotary club when they moved to Pottstown in 1974.  Len was fortunate to experience many of the traditions of Rotary and participate in activities such as Camp Neidig, Summer Youth Exchanges, District Conferences and the many events and programs that were offered through the Pottstown Rotary Club. Len’s dream to become a Rotarian alongside his father became reality in January of 1998 having his dad present him with his Rotary Pin. Not long after, Len lost his dad to a major heart attack so some of Len’s dream never came true. Len soon took over as Secretary and Treasurer of the club, a position he held until becoming President in 2004-2005, which was the 100th year of Rotary and 25 years after his father’s term as president. The highlight of Len’s Presidential year was leading twenty Pottstown Rotarians and guests to the international convention in the birthplace of Rotary, Chicago. The grandeur and fellowship of experiencing his first international convention inspired Len to get further involved in Rotary. Over the many years, Len has been Chair of many club committees, Assistant Governor for Areas 4 and 5, RLI Chair for the district and participated in other district committees. Len and Kirsten (also a Rotarian & past President) have been to most district conferences for 7430, normally hosting the club’s hospitality suite for the Pottstown Club and enjoying the fellowship of all Rotarians. Len was proud to be part of two district conference committees as conference liaison and treasurer for two Past District Governors of the Pottstown Rotary Club.

Len was humbled and proud to be nominated as District Governor 2022-2023 for District 7430.  He is looking forward to working with the President Elects, committee members and Rotarians throughout the district.  Len lives by a motto: work hard and play hard. Having a successful and fun year for all will be the top priority this upcoming year. Great success to all the other District Governors Elect and President Elects in 2022-2023.
